About Mr. OM (MBE ) He joined the British Forces at a very tender age of 17 and He served Queen's Gurkha Signal Regiment (British Army) for 22 years. He served as the very Last Garrison Sargeant Major (GSM) of Hong Kong Garrison playing a Vital role during transition of Hong Kong handing over to China during August 1994 and June 1997. Due to his service and dedication to the Crown he was awarded MBE (Member of British Empire) on 13th of November 1997.He retired after 22 Years of relentless service to Her majesty's Gurkha Signals Regiment in the Rank if Hon. Lieutenant. Now,The Proprietor of Crossed Khukris Gurkha Restaurant in 115 Abbey Street, Nuneaton which he established in 1998. Inducted as a Rotarian of Rotary Club of Nuneaton in 2001 and was elected as the president of the club. Involved in charity works locally as well as internationally through the restaurant and the Rotary Club. Formally, the director of Disablement Information & Advice Line (DIAL) of Warwickshire. He is the person of high standards so is his restaurant which serves hundreds of customers every week , no complaints but just Cheerful and Satisfied Customers longing to return the custom as they leave,taking the unique taste in their taste buds. |
About the Restaurant
The restaurant opened in November 1998. We have been pleased to serve the public of Nuneaton and Bedworth ever since. Our customers usually become regular ones and we have made many good friends. We are a family run restaurant. We have close associations with British Army (Gurkhas). I, myself have served for 22 years in the Queen’s Gurkha Signals and I am the fourth generation of my family who have served in the British Army. The Restaurant supports various local and national charities. We are proud of our position in the local community and we welcome you as our friends. In 2008 we entered the Godiva Awards and thanks to our customers we gained the gold award for the Best Restaurant In Coventry and Warickshire Two years later we again won the gold award of which we are very proud. We aim to maintain the high standards which we have achieved in order to thank our clientele for there continued support Please come and sample our war hospitality and deliciopus food Thank you for your company |
